Workshop - National Welding Capability

The concept of a National Welding Capability is being introduced in the international arena through the IIW, and is a project within the IIW Board of Directors Working Group for Regional Activities (WGRA), with Commission XIV assisting with the education, training, qualification and certification parts of the project. The IIW Research and Collaboration Colloquiums through IIW SG-RES are a vehicle to assist countries in the welding research aspects of the project, while the IIW technical Commissions provide the ideal medium for the technology transfer aspects of the development of the National Welding Capability in member countries.

The countries of South Eastern Europe have worked in a co-operative and collaborative team effort over the past decade to improve the quality of life in the region through optimum use of welding. A key objective of this workshop is for each country to analyze and evaluate its situation, with regard to its own national welding capability, identify future challenges and draw up and implement actions plans to strengthen its own National Welding Capability.
